Friday 22nd July 2022 - Village Square, All Saints, Kings Heath
In the week leading up to the Commonwealth Games in our city we here at (ASCP) All Saints Community Projects came together for a fun filled community day. ASCP located on the Village Square in the heart of Kings Heath is home to All Saints Youth Project, All Saints Community Centre, All Saints Church, The Robin Centre, Circus Mash and many more.
Thanks to the Birmingham City Council - Celebrating Communities Grants, we were afforded the opportunity to deliver a Commonwealth Games inspired event, to mark the beginning of the summer holidays!
Our friends and neighbours from Circus Mash kicked off the day with a cultural inspired performance, led by young performers Simeon and Alex.
These talented young people showcased their talents, with a tailor made performances that wowed the crowd. Passing the baton to the circus master Joe Fearn (Circus Mash - Director), supported by his team in the delivery of a range circus-based talents! We were truly impressed, as were the audience!
Meanwhile we served the crowd with our range of FREE delicious and juicy smoothies!
(Smoothie station led by Vicki and Hellema).
Throughout the day Kings Heath Bowls Club– part of Kings Heath Cricket and Sports Club, introduced the community to sport of lawn bowls. A traditional and popular sport, and one that can be seen at the Commonwealth Games.
(A huge thank you to Des Workman for his time and effort).
