The Kings Heath Food bank was set up at the start of the Covid 19 pandemic and provided much needed support to both the vulnerable and families suffering from financial hardship.
It is safe to say that the need for people to use the foodbank has increased with additional referrals from social workers, job centre and the police.
The foodbank is run entirely by volunteers and we are lucky to have a supportive and caring community with many streets making weekly collections and donations of food and other essential items required.
The community working together was demonstrated when the foodbank and the family support coordinator from All Saints Youth Project worked in partnership to provide food hampers and Chocolate Eggs over Easter for Families in need. A very valued and worthwhile project by Kings Heath Foodbank and All Saints Youth project.
Although the foodbank is a much-needed service to the community it does not have a permanent home. It has had to move premises several times over the past few months and is in desperate need for some permanent accommodation.
Any suggestions of any available premises would be very much appreciated.
